This is a fascinating result.

Here is a guess as to what I see going on, related to other comments I have made on gender:

I have said before I believe there is a massive under-the-radar epidemic of sexual abuse in western culture. One result of this is the transgender movement, as abused individuals seek to change their gender to escape the life of pain left over from sexual abuse. (They want to escape from their sex - which has hurt them so - into a safe "gender". This is quite logical, in an emotionally tragic way).

Here we are looking at another aspect of the same problem. The majority of sexual abuse is committed by males. This is statistically not even close. And given that most males remain heterosexual, the most abuse is committed against females.

Sexual abuse is also hugely dominant in the domestic setting. Family males abuse family females (fathers, uncles, brothers, grandfathers abusing daughters, nieces, sisters, and granddaughters). There are far too many families where this occurs and where it is hidden.

These women now grow up.

Who do you think they trust? Sure as hell not the males in their family. They view family as dangerous, particularly the male members of it. Instead, they will gravitate toward the institutions they believe will defend them against their enemies: i.e. the state. These females mistakenly believe the state is their ally against their abuse.

This is the huge mistake they are making. The abuse that happens to these girls/women is horrific. Reasonable-minded people agree on that. By thinking simplistically, however (i.e. the enemy of my enemy is my friend), these females are completely overlooking the fact that all politicians (by definition, because they desire power over others) are equally bad as the abusers they would like to see come to justice. They are listening to the words of the politicians in the hope that they are their saviors.

This is all in "emotion speak". None of this is a rational calculation. It's a variation on Stockholm Syndrome. They reach out to the government and give it all kinds of power in their emotional desperation to empower some group to stop their enemies (which they see inside their families).

The net result: government good, family bad. Which is to say, the liberal state.

As someone who is against this philosophy, I am still sympathetic to the roots of their pain. These girls/women did indeed suffer traumatic damage in their families. The "solution" they are working toward, however - state power over social matters - makes matters far worse, never better.

How to reach them and show them this? I'm open to suggestions.
