The article doesn't describe the bill fairly. The bill establishes a office in the Department of State to monitor Islamophobia, including against the Uyghurs in China.

it passed house but would need to then pass senate and then be signed by biden to become official

there's a combatting antisemitism bill that passed and was signed by trump. I think Omar introduced this anti islamaphobia bill for based reasons showing the hypocrisy of that.
