Another relevant quote:

“Our government has kept us in a perpetual state of fear -- kept us in a continuous stampede of patriotic fervor -- with the cry of grave national emergency... Always there has been some terrible evil to gobble us up if we did not blindly rally behind it by furnishing the exorbitant sums demanded. Yet, in retrospect, these disasters seem never to have happened, seem never to have been quite real.” ― General Douglas MacArthur 1957

That really sums it up well, and of course, it's still going on, right now.

North Korea was doing better for a long time. South Korea got rich when they were a military dictatorship and practised a kind of national socialism or syndicalism. Capitalism/liberalism is a cancer that eventually physically destroys any population it touches.

I believe N. Korea was never doing better.

Under Park Chung-Hee, North Korea was wealthier. South Korea only got rich when the liberal west poured billions of dollars into propping it up. However, I'd argue North Korea is still doing better overall.

Park was leader of South Korea from '61 until '79 when he was assassinated. The Kim family have "supposedly" run North Korea since WWII. Some say the Kims have been puppets of another state.

either side, being communist or capitalist or whatever they are, we should not ignore the help they get from super powers, or the sabotage.

The climate change people are torn - the upper half doesn't use light bulbs, but the lower half doesn't breed.

Isn't North Korea owned by the deep state and they control all the nukes and kim jon is just a puppet who has no power and north korea is supposed to stay poor and look like a communist country so the deep state can continue to do secret experiments in underneath bunkers

If you want communism then move to North Korea or Western Taiwan. If you step on my rights you will not like the consequences.

Crazy idea: destroy any regime that isn't either communist or crony-'representative'-'democracy'-'capitalist' so that the sheeple see everything as either/or with only these two options as feasible, and go so far as to divide some countries between these two of "ONLY TWO POSSIBLE SYSTEMStm" and then make people feel secure that their trillionaire overlords are actually nice and shit and piss on them a lot less than the other guys.

Haiti and the Dominican Republic look somewhat similar to this from space.
