I can't imagine how an organisation set up by a racist, self hating, gay, transvestite could be a liability

Now think of all of the reports the FBI ignores, wanted criminals they never find, rampage shootings they don't act to prevent...

ignoring real crime and then fabricating evidence against innocent people means crime looks twice as bad as it really is. It's just good for business. The FBI lab scandal, and really it's entire history, shows it is .... hmmmm ... exactly as trustworthy as the rest of the government.

Investigating crimes is hard. Easier to just infiltrate a group and encourage the people in it to commit crimes.
