Maybe if theyd stop firing rockets out of them.....

If every word that they have said about the perfidy and self-destruction of the Palestinians was correct, it would make no difference. The moral obligation falls on the dominant party, and Israel is beyond dominant. The mythmaking about all of the opportunities they squandered does not make a lick of moral difference.

If Israel want being responsible or restrained Palestine could be leveled in a day. Instead they're doing everything they can to prevent civilian casualties but this IS war.

And who started it? Israel started evicting people from their homes. Do you or do you not know that's why all this started?

Or is it one day, for no reason at all, people started attacking Jewish people?

Lie.

Palestinians have been lynching elderly jews on tiktok all year.

And then Israel would probably be leveled.

A terrorist is terrorist and it doesn't matter if the side you are terrorizing is stronger than you. It just makes you stupid and bad at being a terrorist. Stop with the apologia.

Israel is an apartheid state that ethnically cleansed the Palestinians off their land. This is beyond doubt. You don't have to think the Pallies are the good guys. But Israel's guilt is obvious to the world. But don't believe me, let's ask Haaretz:

A document unsealed after 60 years reveals the Israeli government’s secret intentions behind the imposition of a military government on the country’s Arab citizens in 1948: not to enhance security but to ensure Jewish control of the land

You don't "ethnically cleanse" people off land, which shows your level of understanding. Speaking of ethic cleansing though, it is Hamas stated goal to eradicate Jews from existing and they also allied with the Nazi's in WWII. I have 0 sympathy. Don't dish it if you can't take it.

[–]Chipit[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (18 children)

That's literally what ethnic cleansing is. Nobody's saying Hamas are the good guys. We're talking about the fact that Israel is an apartheid state. Did you know they were best friends with apartheid South Africa?

[–]Sendnoodles 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (17 children)

To me ethnic cleansing has connotations of some kind of physical harm or death as well. Fair enough if you don't agree, maybe that's a matter a of semantics.

Nobody's saying Hamas are the good guys.

People literally are saying that......and they not only also want to remove Jews from that same land (that both sides have occupied for thousands of years) but from existence at all, hence the no sympathy comment. Both sides want to do the same thing to the other side as far as removals go. The one side is crying because they're bad at it. If the situation was reversed, those same people crying would be celebrating with no second thoughts.

No. It's removing an ethnic group from their homeland so you can put your own people there. No wonder, you made up your own definition.

It's not a "both sides" thing. After WWII the Jewish people moved there and removed them from their land, and there is ample evidence of this. Then, Israel instituted apartheid to keep them away. They renamed hills, streets, rivers. They erased their culture from the land. None of this is a secret, but apparently you have no idea.

In fact, Israeli ultranationalists in private conversations even welcome the comparison to Apartheid, because they think Apartheid was gentler than what modern Israel has achieved. Under Apartheid, the black South Africans could travel to white-controlled zones for work. Under the Israeli program the Palestinians languish behind 35-foot-tall concrete walls in what are little more than open air prisons with the Israelis controlling Palestinian access to power, food and water. As the thinking goes, who cares if this radicalizes the Palestinians if they are radicalized on the other side of a wall. Arguably, places like Tunisia or Pakistan are now “more equal” democracies than Israel. (Ugh, I’m going to get so much hate mail for these last two paragraphs.)

It's not a made up definition, it is part of the definition. It can mean either.

As to the next part of your comment, it is way oversimplified and lacking A LOT of information. No Jews didn't just magically show up after WWII, they had a history there for thousands of years just like Palestinians did. The reason this land was given to them was because for their entire history, people had been trying to exterminate them. This included the Palestinians who were allied with the Nazi's during WWII. That's the kind of thing that happens when you lose a war over exterminating a certain race or religion from the earth.....sometimes there are consequences. They are still trying to exterminate them, despite throughout the 90's 2 state solutions were offered which were always either rejected or broken by the Palestinians. They still regularly make attacks on Israelis from civilian areas which is a war crime. They end up killing Palestinians in the process and just view it as collateral damage. When the Israeli's do it as a form of retaliation though, they act like victims and like they didn't provoke the whole thing, then try to get sympathy from the world by only telling half the story (like you are here). Truth be told, I don't really support Israel either, I'm just sick of consistently seeing only one side of the story presented when both parties are guilty.

[–]Chipit[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (14 children)

I used to support Israel, but turns out I only ever heard half the story.

sometimes there are consequences.

So there was ethnic cleansing, but it was OK because the Jews did it. Gotcha.

That's pretty much the Israeli position, actually. When we do it it's OK because it's absolutely necessary, but how dare anyone do the same to us.

Hamas is a controlled Opposition. One of the top leaders in Hamas is an Israeli and his son was a spy for the Likud.
