too many depressing movies
Seriously. For me, this last year has been depressing enough. Back in the Recession, I lost my job, so do I really want to sit through Nomadland and be reminded of all that anxiety all over again? I've become, by default, the primary caretaker for my aging mother whose memory is deteriorating. Do I really want to go sit alone in my house and stream The Father? Do I want to watch movies about racial issues while the downtown of the city where I live is being trashed by rioters and that's all that's on the news 24/7?
Reality has been bad enough. I've taken to watching history documentaries and how-to videos on Youtube.
