    California is just sliding along beside the ocean, although it's more the left side of California AND the Pacific sliding along the right side of California.

    Washington state comes closer to 'sinking into the ocean', except it's on the top plate that's riding up over the plate in the ocean sliding under it, which kind of makes it rise up over the ocean. That's what's causing all those 'zits' up along the northwest coastline.

      I 'think' it's far enough north and at enough of an angle that little effect will happen here. (50 million damage from the 2011 tsunami) It's pretty much just if the Hilina Slump breaks off of Hawaii that we need to head for the hills. And we'll have about 4 hours and 15 minutes to do so.
