They're not anarchists. Anarchists are voluntaristic and don't push their agendas on others.

LOL wrong. This is some weird theory that, as we've seen, simply does not agree with reality.

I have to admit, this is a very well-written article, well researched, and that unherd.com appears to offer original research and opinion like this regularly. Portland deserves much more attention, as rioters (esp. including anarchists) are getting much more organized there, by contrast to protests in some other cities. It would be interesting to know more about the concerns of non-violent protestors, and their views of the rioters. There have been videos of protestors trying to stop violence and destruction. But there are also otherwise peaceful protestors behind the front lines of violent protestors, most consistently in Portland. A really complicated development in Portland, which I hope does not lead to increased police surveillance of the Orwellian kind, but this may be necessary.

"Not all of the SA were involved in Kristallnacht. It would be interesting to know more about the concerns of nonviolent protesters, and their view of the glass-shatterers."

which I hope does not lead to increased police surveillance of the Orwellian kind, but this may be necessary.

You kidding? Ordinary policing would have done the trick long ago. Portland's mayor sympathizes with the SA, sorry I mean Antifa, and won't let the police do their job..

Remember, there are two kinds of fascists: fascists and anti-fascists.
