It's good that coffee is the one thing I have stockpiled.

Nothing wrong with that. It keeps forever and the price is always somewhat volatile.

Hopefully green, as roasted beans go noticeably stale within a month.

This is planned.

Part of the timeline for the 'great reset', is to significantly reduce shipping between now and 2030, and part of that means reducing the movement of food.

Coffee supplies in the US are shrinking and wholesale prices are surging, with the hard-hit market bracing for further fallout from a global shortage of shipping containers that's upended the food trade.

The Lede

Coffee inventory in the United States is at a six-year low as a drought in Brazil and a shortage of shipping containers guts global supply.

Key Details

While roasters have avoided raising the price of coffee beans for now, the supply problem is expected to get worse.

A Goldman Sachs Group report suggests that the international coffee market could enter a structural deficit if production in Central America stays on the same course.

The world's largest shipping company, Denmark-based A.P. Moller-Maersk A/S, is facing a container shortage but believe it's only a short-term problem.
