yeah this unity among inherently distant gays and lesbians is what made the lgbt movement successful in the first place: they unite under their common enemy, namely the straight homophobes who are willing to crush down on them. so this is kinda a natural move.

How many of those homophobes do you think were actually gays pretending to be straight? Because, as every gay knows, straight people spend their days constantly trying to oppress gays.
