    I think you're absolutely right: "liberalism" simply means to live and let live, even if it means allowing things you personally disagree with.

    "Cops should be beating up..." is decidedly NOT a liberal position.

    Such authoritarians, aka "shitty liberals" as you put it, really are the worst.
