He just admitted he thought people were too stupid to hear the truth.

You have a good Christmas, Jason?

The only good Christmases are ones where I got laid.

Yesterday I just got drunk, partly with a neighbour.

You?

I had a fantastic Christmas. Got laid, got high, got oh so very drunk. Saw my brother and his family, and his step daughter's lesbian lover. Good times.

Herd immunity for the original Covid virus kicks in about 45- 55%, judging by smaller communities that reached it early on in march.

Given that the R0 number of Covid is about 2.6, you'd naturally hit herd immunity about 60%. So it looks like some of the population might have pre existing immunity from other coronaviruses.

This wasn't understood back in March.

The new variants of Covid have a higher R number (apparently). Which means you'll reach herd immunity with a higher % infected.

If the R number is 50% higher, it's about R4. That means the new variant would die off at about 75%... Minus the pre exist immunity. So about 65% ish.

So about the same as the original calculation once you factor in pre existing immunity.

The more thoroughly tested groups give mortality at around 1/400 (Diamond Princess, Ischgl, etc). However mortality in the UK after a Covid hospital admission has halved since spring.

We should lose about 0.1% of the population to Covid. Average age 81, a quarter of them so frail they were in care homes.

The middle aged should be concerned if they are:

Dark skinned

Working face to face with the infected (viral load is an issue)

In crappy health/vitamin D deficient

So, middle aged black nurses etc should be concerned.

    Ross Douthat @DouthatNYT:

When you can't just "trust the science" because the scientists keep lying to you and then saying, "oh, that was just a noble lie, sorry about that."

German attorney Reiner Fuellmich and associates investigated over the summer and determined that the pandemic is a false narrative riding the false positives generated by the PCR test. He is suing Dr. Christian Drosten for defamation of a client who said PCR tests can't detect disease. He characterizes the COVID-19 pandemic narrative as a crime against humanity.

The courts are practiced at seeing through deception with subpoena and discovery. The facts will come out if nothing interrupts.
