I hear they taste like carp unfortunately, but yeah that would be an awesome catch.

This reads like a propaganda piece trying to convince people its ok to release your non-native aquarium fish into the wild. Something I don't agree with. Goldfish in particular have no problem surviving cold winters and have invaded some northern lakes where they have taken over and destroyed habitat for other native species.

Also, releasing aquarium fish can introduce aquarium fish diseases into the wild where they can cause massive die offs. Probably not a good idea to use goldfish as bait either.
