So about middle of the pack.
I was looking in to low real estate taxes, places where you really own your land more because you owe less on it. Montana, Wyoming, and New Mexico have the lowest taxes, sometimes under 0.5% per year. So if you own 10 acres for $20k in one those three states, the taxes are literally $100 per YEAR. Same rate with houses on the land. In Texas the taxes on that would be like $1000-2000 per year depending on county.
