Banks like that get their employees from all over the world.

Don't moan when you tell them they have to employ more minorities and so they sack all their American staff in the US and replace them with wizz kids from India and the Far East.

The problem isn't really racism, it's that they just hire their buddies and don't like hiring minorities because they don't fit in with their culture. You see a lot of these companies hiring all white people because they have a culture, one that's very spoiled and fake, and minorities tend not to buy into that. Plus even if you try, they don't want you around. In Michigan, they all travel up north to cabins and cottages just to get away from minorities. They're just recreating the fifties up there.

Asians are good at math, yet from my experience, I haven't ever met one Asian math or science teacher in my area. One that I knew of was forced to work charter schools or something. I knew another Hispanic lady who could never find a job teaching Spanish. Great lady, they'd NEVER give her a chance. She grew up rich in Mexico.

If you are good at maths then becoming a maths teacher is pretty much a failure.

Are you 12? You clearly have NOT lived life and seen the working world. It's not like the movies.

"You see a lot of these companies hiring all white people because they have a culture, one that's very spoiled and fake, and minorities tend not to buy into that"

If you drew that conclusion after living and working in the real world, you are clearly unable to comprehend the world around you.

I had an Asian calculus prof who was apparently brilliant, an important person in the field of superconductors iirc, but goddamn he was a shit teacher. He'd attack the board with his chalk, pieces would often fly everywhere. He'd attack the board with the problem, pause, attack the board with the solution, and tell us "Obvious!" like Mickey Rooney in Breakfast at Tiffany's might say it. That was how he taught everything.

I was told that in order to have his real work funded at the University he had to teach classes.

Thank God for that man's TAs where we had to go to learn the obvious.

I think this applies to what u/jet199 wrote, sometimes brilliant mathematicians have to teach, although I'm not sure based on my experience they necessarily should. And it was kind of a toss up who to reply to since it seemed relevant to both comments.

This dude is not representative of all Asians...I had a Japanese Economics GSI who was amazing and funny. As well as an Asian Anthropology professor who is sorta famous and one of the best teachers I ever had.

Dude becoming a teacher is not hard, talented people don't want to do it because there's way more money in other fields. Banks have no problem hiring minorities. Your characterization of the all white, privileged boys club is some tired left-wing propaganda with no basis in modern reality.

Yeah that's exactly how I would describe your comment. It's like you got your whole worldview from tv movies and cnn.

Nah, it's from actually working and living in the real world, douchebag.

Papa Johns is moving HQ from Louisville to Atlanta, and in the press release cited "not enough black and brown talent". The local black and brown community leaders praised the white CEO of Papa Johns for saying black and brown people in Louisville are untalented. He didn't say black folks are untalented, just YOU black folks. AND THEY TOOK IT AS A COMPLIMENT!? Pandemics are weird, can't make this shit up...
