Anyone on here want to defend Facebook and suggest that their user restrictions would be unbiased?

They are not even hiding it anymore. They'll censor anything pro-Trump to help Biden win.

I don't use Facebook, so I guess I'm fully restricted already. Somehow that is freeing.

The social media giants believe their own propaganda, but I think the country may be surprised when the chips go down. We are all told - and consequently believe - that these corporate behemoths wield control over popular opinion through their manipulation of information flow. Less discussed - and giving cause for optimism - is the movement against such blind faith in their message. I don't know anyone who trusts any of these companies. Knowledge of their manipulation is now commonplace. Given this backdrop, when Facebook, Google, Reddit, etc promote a result come November, their efforts may backfire. The more they censor and manipulate, the greater the counter-reaction becomes.

I don't deny there are true believers. There are some, and they represent the very vocal voices we see on our screens shouting at and intimidating bystanders on the streets lately. But I think when the country divides completely - as it is likely to do during this election cycle - the supporters of this thought, even when in control of the corporate power of the megaphone, will be exposed to have represented a vocal minority all along.

The overwhelming majority of us remain unrepresented. While Trump is a useful brake to the insanity this anti-free speech wing represents, he also in the end truly represents only another sliver of the population. Those of us who would like to be free of both the left and the right wings of global money interests - including all the insane empire-spreading activities around the world - we are still waiting...

Assange is still in prison - Snowden is still in exile.
