Lol America. Hes not black enough for anyone to riot over, though.

Let's adult here and consider the proper procedure. 0) In case of a robbery, be armed is a given. 1) Should one open the door or tie up emergency lines asking first if officers are deployed? Assuming you don't want the police DDoS'd on every call, let's assume just opening the door like a normal person. Let's also assume you step onto the doormat so that your wife can shut and dead bolt the door behind you. This way your family will stay safe, even if you die. 2) Obviously you don't point your gun at people unless you want to shoot them, so it should be at your side. Should it be visible at the side or behind the back? Holstering is not always an option as it delays the response time and therefore increase the likelihood of getting your door destroyed (which you have to pay for since police do not pay for property damaged in the course of duty). Something tells me these jumpy cops would have freaked out even faster if a weapon was visible immediately. Isn't behind the back a more defensive, vulnerable posture? 3) If asked to put your hands up while holding a gun, isn't the best option to drop the tool and then put hands up? I do not see any better option here, especially with a flashlight in the eyes. I think this was an offensive action. Normal people do not shine lights in others' eyes. You know who does? Criminals. Mobsters. Soldiers. I would even say it would be justified to 'shoot blind' if someone purposely blinded you. I hold that stance with officers vs chaz in Seattle and I hold it with this guy. Again to repeat myself, if this guy had shot the officer who shined the light in his face (after hiding from the peephole) and I were on a grand jury the evidence, I would conclude it justified self defense. You do not attack people with lights or fists or tazers or guns. You will get shot. I don't care who you are.

And why did the police decided to hide from the peep hole? They know all apartments have them for a reason. How could it possibly be a good idea to not fully identify your uniform before interaction? I could understand that if your uniform was an obvious fake. Lastly, even besides shooting the guy who dropped his gun in the back execution-style, why aren't all requests for charges against officers given to the next higher level so that a second department can help remove corruption (police do not execute suspects) in case the local area is actually corrupt?

This annoying right-wing level of feminism is so annoying. "Men should just throw their lives away for wamen" is so fucking cringe. I'm not against protecting women but you really think men should just swing their doors open wide to step out whenever they are in danger for the off chance their women might be able to lock the door behind them? Seriously give your head a shake.

It pretty much was visible immediately. Did you watch the video? There's maybe a second or two for them to process the gun once the door opened and then he was dead.

You are correct that it was viewable immediately. But it wasn't the first thing a normal person would see because he was not brandishing it at eye level. The cops only got the 1 time to view what was happening before the one hiding in the shadows decided to shoot the guy in the back. I had to review the slow motion before seeing the weapon despite it being held at the side.
