its happening everywhere, we must stand together against the left,

[–][deleted] 7 insightful - 6 fun7 insightful - 5 fun8 insightful - 6 fun -  (26 children)

Do you guys really want to keep tying the conservative bandwagon to the raging dumpster fire on wheels that is trump? Seems like a pretty fucking dumb idea

[–][deleted] 7 insightful - 2 fun7 insightful - 1 fun8 insightful - 2 fun -  (4 children)

trump, a long time democrat and pal of clinton. I do think we got played with him and Q is meant to give excuses for why trump does nothing. It was nice in 2016 to celebrate but it was also nice in 2008 for liberals to celebrate when Obama won but then he sold out on every issue over the course of years. Politicians always lie and only help the rich. This repeats all thru history but people live and die and forget and historians usually don't report on it. Truth is we're all keyboard warriors now and we will never "stand together against the left" nor the right. Revolutions only happen when people are hungry in their stomach.

Obama didn’t sell out, he was exactly what you’d expect. He and HRC had almost identical views and policy positions. Obama never ran on a progressive platform. His marketing of the campaign was “hope” and “change,” but that was only aspirational. If you looked at his record, it was clear he was an establishment neoliberal Democrat. I think what amazes me now is when people talk about Obama like he was such a good president. Obama was a very average president with decent speaking skills.

Any actual leftists will very quickly and openly criticize Obama for the same reasons

[–]Jesus 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

The Neocons did like Obama. But the Iran Deal was cool and he had some things to say about the corrupt nature of Israel even though he did the exact opposite.

[–][deleted] 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

obama sold out on every issue, unprecedented in modern politics, this is why occupy wall st started up. But if you criticized obama you got called racist so it was tricky and they never mentioned him but it was obvious. His cabinet was run by goldman sachs, aka wall st.

Now of course trump is the second straight president who has sold out on every issue, demoralizing his base, although Q helps keep their spirits up, a way to cope, no one likes being told they were duped. Mainly older folks vote republican and that is more painful for them to realize they were duped, they don't have much more time left on this earth so they are loath to start over politically, starting a new movement, they would rather believe a savior from within has a plan to do it for them. Young people dropped out of politics en masse after obama and voted more for third parties like jill stein. That hurt Hilay's chances. Biden soon to lose due to this phenomenon, Obama really killed the democratic party for a generation, but it runs in cycles and new voters who are unaware of what happened are becoming 18 every year.

The idea that Trump is a 'dumpser fire' is far from an universal one. Lots of people think he's awesome.

[–][deleted] 2 insightful - 3 fun2 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 3 fun -  (1 child)

I guess many Americans were raised by abusive narcissist parents, that's really sad :(

I think there are quite a few people who have an opinion of him that is somewhere in the middle. Thinking that the whole "orange man bad" thing is completely insane doesn't mean your opinion of the guy is a direct opposite of that attitude.

You do know corporations are destroying your jobs, not immigrants... right? Aka establishment Republicans and conservatives who run these businesses.

[–][deleted] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (8 children)

corps and immigrants both working together to "take our jorbs"

if we halt immigration corporations have less of a chance to do that, of course they will still outsource jobs out, need to also make that illegal, sending any jobs out of the country must mean tariffs on their goods. This is a leftwing economic viewpoint.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (7 children)

Which jobs of ours are immigrants taking that we want? Are you talking about h1b1 visas? Or illegal immigrants?

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (6 children)

you probably plan to say americans don't want the jobs but keep in mind it is due to the wages and not being a living wage, must also raise min wage.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (5 children)

Hey, I totally agree!

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

and also wages rise natually if we keep out immigrants, supply and demand, we must keep the supply of workers lower so the demand for them rises and corps have to pay them more. Now some will say that hurts small businesses, not so, because if people have higher wages and more money in their pockets they can buy more goods which helps small businesses. Trickle up.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

Eh that seems like a pretty piss poor solution. The actual issue is that corporations will never stop outsourcing labor to countries that have no human rights or labor regulations. If we can't even make em pay us a living wage, how are we going to stop them from outsourcing? They all but own the government outright and can't be stopped.

If we WERE to solve outsourcing somehow we still have corps that are incentivized to keep wages low so they can keep shareholder return high.

And next to that, automation has lowered job availability so much that manufacturing jobs that drove old America will never come back. If they did, the population of America is still too high to provide jobs for all.

where did i say anything remotely about immigration in my comment that i'm worried about?

[–]Jesus 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (2 children)

Trump has let in more immigrants than Clinton who was quite tough on immigration. Deportee in chief Obama also deported far more than Trump.

How bout that wall?

[–]konoplya 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

he deported less because there's less illegals coming in that require deportation. the wall is actually working as intended buddy.

[–]Questionable 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

The DNC must be very happy with you. Your blanket statements of blame, are exactly the tactics they implement.

It isn't a bad idea for Zionists.

Yes, let's stand with the Likudniks and vote Trump in and the 9/11 perps!

[–]SeasideLimbs 7 insightful - 2 fun7 insightful - 1 fun8 insightful - 2 fun -  (6 children)

Awesome! Companies pushing back against the far-left is a sign that rejection of the far-left is becoming a socially acceptable viewpoint. About time.

[–]Drewski 7 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 0 fun8 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

I don't know that this is a great example though since John Schnatter was pushed out of his own company.

[–][deleted] 4 insightful - 3 fun4 insightful - 2 fun5 insightful - 3 fun -  (0 children)

yeah, companies pushing back against the left: goya and a papa johns CEO who doesn't work there anymore. Not a huge coalition.

[–]FediNetizen 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

I remember when the ACA (Obamacare) was being debated in Congress and Schnatter said something about how providing healthcare to all employees would increase the cost of pizza by some trivial amount (11 to 14 cents apparently), and he was railing against it. Reddit fucking hated him for that.

[–][deleted] 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

that's a problem with capitalism, on a large scale that 11 to 14 cents per pizza becomes a billion dollars for shareholders.

[–]Jesus 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Yup. Capitalism eventually turns into a corportocracy of cronyist oligarchs sucking up every last penny until your children and your children's children are poor and homeless.
