Chomsky's basically the grandfather of this nutbag America-hating far leftist movement, and now he's been fired, made redundant and cashiered.

Have you read Chomsky? He’s a libertarian anarchist at best — definitely not a lefty. Of course he hates cancel culture - because it’s the epitome of everything he’s warned about since the 70s. This dude sees no difference between Democrat and republican because he claims that they’re both Orwellian. Chomsky’s major beef is with main stream media and the power of propaganda, and how they are used together for control. Of course he gets smeared by them — his enemy IS the MSM. I dare you to read his work, it’s a careful examination of this kind of stuff, Profit over People: Neoliberalism and Global Order, is very approachable, Manufacturing Consent (co author) is another good one. I just feel compelled to make it clear every time I see this though, because he’s more anti-gov, anti-big business and pro-community pro-democracy than anything. Dude just thinks big businesses and banks run the world, the media is their mechanism of totalitarianism and says it’s been this way for a long time... how is this a lefty position? Because last time I checked “right wing conspiracy nut” checks those very same boxes .... strange it’s as if the powers that be somehow don’t want those people reading a book by a smart guy saying, “yup it’s true,” so they label it as some kind of work that would be heresy to them. This dude is the OG fake news guy, he’s worth a read.

In 1979, French academic Robert Faurisson was fined 21,000 francs and given a suspended sentence for denying the Holocaust on national television. Hundreds of people (most notably Noam Chomsky) signed a petition, registering their concern about the consequences for civil rights in France. The following year, Faurisson used a copyright-free essay by Chomsky in defense of the general principles of free speech—without Chomsky's permission—as the preface to his book, Mémoire en Défense: contre ceux qui m'accusent de falsifier l'histoire. Although he specifically rejected the idea that he was defending Faurisson in the piece, Chomsky was subsequently vilified as a Nazi sympathizer and anti-Semite.

Chomsky and Herman attempt to downplay the significance of child labor by claiming that "vocational training" for twelve-year-old children is "not generally regarded as an atrocity in a poor peasant society."(90) The argument is a waste of ink. No amount of scholarly doublespeak can conceal the fact that child slavery is not "vocational training."

At this point, faced with Professor Chomsky's repeated and apparently wilful failure to grasp the simple points I was making or answer the simple questions I was asking, I almost lost the will to live.

And as a huge fan of Noam Chomsky, I almost did too.

lmao the absurdity! this is a discussion about a conservative article making fun of libs hating on Chomsky for hating on cancel culture in which a commenter uses a cancel culture Ad hominem tactic (see the debate pyramid) to stifle another when they say he’s smart and worth a read - obviously to dissuade any meaningful discussion about his works - oh the irony lol. He was like an original cancel culture target for LMAO Hahaha HAHAHA cough cough Hahaha hoowee!! ... nevermind forget it, lol, it’s too much — it’s like two mirrors facing each other — I have too much fun watching the snake eat it’s tail — don’t bother reading him - If the first thing you have to say about his works is an ad hominem attack on him (which have very explainable reasonings if you actually read his works) and you can’t see the irony of it, its kind of hard to expect this conversation to have merit or be enlightening for anyone... I could go on and explain his reasonings or why even IF he was wrong that bad people can be right and good people wrong, but it’s cool... I’ll get back in line... here I go... “yea fuck them libs and that fucky self hating Jew Chomsky that’s so leftist he denied the holocaust, child slavery, multiple genocides apparently, and hates cancel culture, yea fuck him! Hahaha all libs are so dumb, yea! Go team! We showed how dumb they are yea! Stupid lefties!” ... Am I doing it right?

He's a genocide denier. It's not ad hominem, it's verifiable truth. Click the links and you'll see him say it in his own words. That makes him anathema and this long predates cancel culture.

He's only "against" it now that it's a threat to his side. He was totally for it previously when it was happening to his enemies. Chomsky is not a good man.
