I like the police <3

they're way better than the alternative, and they can continue to get better with oversight and accountability.

Bye-bye

“(Officers) don’t feel appreciated,” said Mylan Masson, a retired Minneapolis officer and use-of-force expert. “Everybody hates the police right now. I mean everybody.”

everybody hates the police

They see that, but they can't see what role they play in that. I don't know anyone who has not been given a ticket at some point for bullshit like "rolling through a stop sign" even though they did stop, or a ticket for obstructed view for having some tiny thing hanging on their mirror. Cops have been abusing the badge far too much for far too long. It's a damn shame that this has been turned into a race issue.

The police have a job to do. It's too enforce the law. A bullshit ticket? Maybe your friend should have stopped for the sign.

If police can't enforce the laws and the leadership doesn't support them (and in fact supports rioters who burn the building down) it's not about the public not looking police anymore. It's about LEADERSHIP putting police in a dangerous situation.

It is not tolerable.

It's literally a bottomless pit of arrogance and entitlement with you people. If you wouldn't write the ticket to another cop you shouldn't write it to anyone. A two tier system IS corruption, and every cop is guilty of it. But you keep acting like everyone deserves your bullshit. Like speed traps don't exist. Like cops don't write fake tickets. Like evidence has never been planted. Like laws don't get abused to fill the police coffers with "confiscated" treasure.

It's people like you that make this the only way.

You write a laundry list of things that you see in cop movies and yes, sometimes headlines. The answer to that is not to abolish policing. That's a ridiculous jump to make.

Deny, deny, deny. None of what I said is from movies. fuck you. fuck your bullshit. No one is buying it.

It is a laundry list. One that gets repeated every day, everywhere you go. We have had enough. We deserve better.

The defunding/restructuring of police probably has more to do with wanting to stop the cities themselves from getting sued and instead "survivors" will be going after a private company. They'll still be funded by the tax payers (probably) they just won't be liable for the death and carnage caused by them.

They're going to re-arrange the corporate structure a bit.

No one is wanna be a cop anymore. The quality of applicants will only fall further. Expect a fuck tonne of crime, especially from joggers who are completely embolden now and are gonna be worse than before.

Might happen I suppose. Probably won’t. Remember when the NYPD did a go-slow “work to rules” thing after one of their guys killed someone for selling loosies? Tickets and stops and all that collapsed by a third. There was no impact on the city’s low crime rate.

I would suppose most cities cold stand to lose a large number of older, more violent officers. Let the youngsters remake our police departments.

The goal of that was only disrupt revenue making enforcement to send message to government. They didnt stop going after actual crime.

[–]Nemacolin[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (6 children)

I see. So we could pretty well fire a mess of policemen, since they do not go after crime.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (5 children)

No the government relies on the income of their revenue raising enforcement.

[–]Nemacolin[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

Seems pretty circular. We need policemen writing ticket so we can hire policemen to write tickets.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

lol you simpleton. The government spends the money on a wide range of things.

[–]Nemacolin[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

I see. You figure most, many, policemen write more tickets than it costs to employee them? Seems like a straightforward mathematical statement. Please show us your number or your cite.

Unless of course you are just making stuff up.

lol at the attempted face saving by the simpleton after making a fool of themselves. The retard literally though revenue raised by law enforcement went directly to fund police and only police. Now he wants written report on what is common knowledge to any functioning adult, hilarious.

Common knowledge can be easily proved. Well, it could be easily proved if it were true.
