Always with the personal attack. Never an actual refutation of the evidence.

What did I say that was an attack?

Can we discuss the issue at hand? That journalists are trying to discredit a journalist for performing journalism?

Gosh. Journalists saying stuff you don't like? Shocking.

Journalists betraying the very foundation of their profession to engage in spite and petty jealousy? Yes that is shocking.

So you want to tell them what they can say? They have to stop being mean?

What! No. What is with the constant placing of words in my mouth? You're not a mind-reader.

I'm just judging them for being petty, spiteful nobodies when they're supposed to be journalists. In their station they're supposed to be above such gradeschool antics as jealousy. They style themselves heroes, while they are nothing but base scoundrels.

I am very sorry people do not live up to your expectations of them. It must have a shocking moment when you discovered people act in ways you do not approve.

Not people. Professional journalists who tell us that they are better than that. That's why it's so shocking.

I clutch my pearls.
