$600.000? They made that easily if it was $1000 per device on a large event (sure, all the guests should have been rich (or journalists) to be willing to pay $1000 for wifi).
Though the article messes up 3/4G internet and wifi I guess? They blocked the 3/4G so you would have to get their wifi... But 3/4G isn't called wifi is it?
