I have always sort of thought I picked that up from my Mom. In any case, both terms are used.

With all the numbers being tossed about, I find this to be a form that I can easily understand.

Of course they're going to ramp it up. It's part of the plan, whether it's actually true or not.

How they come by those numbers is exceptionally unscientific.

But how are those measured? A suicide swabbed in a Corona hospital will get labelled as Corona death.
