Yep. For a very long time rural people controlled Virginia. They ruled the cities harshly, passing laws urban people did not like. Now the urban population here and in other states is growing to a point that power is passing to it. It is to be expected that the county folk will be upset when they are repaid in the same coin.

Sucks to be them.

This is the problem with democracy, it's a tyranny of the majority. The individual is the greatest minority and their right to life, liberty, and the ability to defend themselves may not be voted away by the masses.

Odd that rural people did not feel that way when they were in charge. "What you see depends on where you stand."

I'm sure some of them did, but I don't think you can generalize all rural or city people that way.

Rural people were perfectly willing to impose laws on city-dwellers with little or no consideration of the minority. Now the cities are gaining strength. We cannot be surprised when they repay the rural people with their own coin.

Nobody should be subject to unjust laws, minority or majority. An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.

Yep. But that is how it is. Listen to the rural people howl.
