Why do we segregate sports?

Sports should be about the best a person can do, not about lowering expectations.

i see it similar to weight classes in MMA. Or varsity and junior varsity high school kids not competing with NBA and NFL, etc.

Age differences is one thing, but once adults why not?

true age difference is similar tho to different weights and different genders. Also whether someone is disabled or not, so I am ok with them having the paralympics. And once adults, I know sometimes they have sports for only old people, like you need to be a certain age. There's a 50 and over basketball league near me, I can't join it but that's fine I don't need to go in there and dunk over grampa to feel like a real man.

are you kidding? we segregate so that women have a chance to compete against their genetic equals

That would just be the equivalent of current male leagues (a.k.a. normal sports).

Do you think weight classes and age groups should be eliminated, as well?

Weight classes don't make much sense for me and aren't present in many sports. Age groups should stay.
