He seems out of step with the times.

Attorney General Steve Marshall wrote a letter to state lawmakers Wednesday to say he opposes legislation that would legalize medical marijuana.

The letter comes after the state’s Medical Cannabis Commission spent a year working to put together a compromise bill for the 2020 legislative session.

Marshall said such legislation would be “in direct conflict with duly enacted and clearly constitutional federal law.”

Marshall went on to draw parallels between marijuana use and the opioid crisis.
