Well, they were. Communists were in power in Russia and they planned a worldwide revolution. In Russia they planned to go West and did not intend to stop until they got to Portugal.

They were halted and Western civilization saved by the Poles. Not for the first time. And the Poles got very little credit for it, not for the first time either.

Not the heroes we deserve but the heroes we need. Thank god for them. I’ve had many truly great Polish friends.
