This article pulls this crucial topic and its many details together in a really cogent (and chilling) way. Unfortunately its central theme--the sheer monstrosity of it all--is often lost on some of my peeps who have been effectively mind-controlled to scoff at the merest whiff of "conspiracy", as if entertaining any of these facts even briefly turns one into a social pariah, lowers ones IQ, and confers the brand of Idiot.

It's this social aspect of dissuading dissent that has been deployed with such extreme "success," and it shocks me to see even intelligent, otherwise caring people play Three Monkeys while the whole world burns around them with their very own tax dollars.

Romans were willing to tolerate any government abuse as long as there were bread and circuses.

Sound familiar?
