In 2015 the state of Maine passed the Constitutional Carry Law. This allowed gun owners to carry a firearm with them without a special permit. Critics said it would increase crime. They were wrong. By 2017 Maine was the safest state in the country.

This and similar studies imply these correlations are the result of such policies.

While that maybe true, it doesn’t change the fact that the prediction that it would increase crime has been definitely proven wrong.
