I read this article prepared to hate it, but I do feel the author made a couple of good points. 1. Humans are adapted to hate high entropy environments so they seem ugly to us. We should try to build our settlements with eye towards lower entropy. 2. The process is emergent. There was no conspiracy, things just happened the way they did because of the way they were.
