Every time I saw her when I was a child in the 1960's she looked greasy and dirty.

she had a butter face

she got depressed because chads wouldn't commit to her, so she did drugs to cope, and Od'd on heroin. Kind of a black pill, she had it all, money, fame, success, but was still depressed due to no chad.

She was bisexual so not really holding out for Chad, no.

Rather she expected the men around her (making money because of her) to be decent friends, like women would be, but of course they all blew her off at the first sign of a groupie so she was left on her own a lot of the time.

all women are bisexuial, they want chad, a hot woman, a normie, in that order.

her fiance was seth morgan, he called to say he was dumping her, that's why she killed herself by taking a ton of heroin

For what it's worth, I think it's not fair to Janis to refer to her as having a 'butter face' and to say that she killed herself because of a boyfriend dumping her, especially when we know she was addicted to heroin and had been depressed. There are so many ways in which depression and heroin are reasons for overdoses or accidental death (heroin overdose was suggested, but not proven), many of which are not solely related to an ex-boyfriend. Even if one wants to argue that the call from the boyfriend was the 'last straw', we cannot honestly say that this is proof that she at that point decided - "well alright then, I will kill myself because of that asshole". If she had left a suicide note, perhaps that would have been evidence. Her ongoing depression and heroin additiction are to be looked at first, before assuming that she was stupidly deciding to end it all because of an asshole boyfriend. My point is that we don't know and we shouldn't insult her memory with this idea that she didn't want to live because of one of many asshole men that took advantage of her at the time. And I am not saying this as part of a debate. I am saying this because we should learn from Janis about her, about depression, about heroin addiction, and not assume that she was an idiot, even if there is the potential that she made an idiotic decision while under the influence of drugs. Here's another theory about the cause of death: https://www.thesound.co.nz/home/music/2018/10/janis-joplin-overdose-death-peggy-caserta.html /u/Popper /u/jet199

first came lack of chads then came the heroin to deal with the depression

Heroin addiction has ruined so many lives, of those who had partners at the time, and many others, and the initial reasons to try heroin are numerous. Regarding her depression, my personal view is that this was related to more than just the selfish men in her life. For example, she was never really accepted in her home town, which was very sad for her. This is discussed frequently, but here's a reference: https://www.vintag.es/2021/08/joplin-high-school-reunion.html

why do you think she wasn't accepted in her home town

Some of those same kids once called Janis a pig and a weirdo and threw pennies at her, teasing her about everything from her weight to her acne to her outspokenness about civil rights. Many of them never left Port Arthur, so 10 years hadn’t brought many changes.

But maybe she didn't overdose, if you can believe this theory. The cigs and change in her hand don't necessarily prove she was fine enough to go hit up a cig machine, but if true it would raise some questions.

Seems her first book was mainly ghost-written while she was strung out on heroin, according to her.
