I hate CDs although they're free of analog artifacts such as popping and crackling. A vinyl feels more substantial and you get a nice big sleeve with artwork and sometimes a poster inside and a link to a digital copy of the album. It's far from a perfect medium though but despite it's imperfections, I like the sound better. It sounds warmer and not as sterile as a .wav file.

With the technological advances of polymers, it's a shame the manufacturing process is pretty much the same as a sturdier material would make the vinyls last longer and would protect better against scratches. Would a polycarbonate disc be easy to cut grooves on? I don't know.
