Too much of it. We need less music and fewer people.

That's not what it means for music to be overproduced. The process of recording and mixing, not creating music. What an embarrassing mistake.

Definition of overproduce

transitive + intransitive. : to produce an excessive amount (of something)

The 'something' in this case is music. Don't be embarrassed.

It's obviously not referring to the quantity of music. The article makes it crystal clear over and over again.

I'm simply answering the question posed by the title. There's too much of it being produced. The actual "quality" is too low for nuance to matter. 99% of it shouldn't exist to even be discussed.

It wouldn't shock me if there were people on saidit right now who were subjecting themselves to random 'music' over their very real fear of silence. Same goes for television, although that's a little off topic for this post.

Heavily layered but extremely clean; complex but predictable to the point of being fatiguing
