You're right, it does feel like it's meant to be listened to now. The whole entire album is a masterpiece, and at least once, one should listen to the whole album in order. It only has around 6 songs. It's one of those albums that people refer to as an "experience"; I was honestly kinda naive and didn't listen to anything made prior to the 90's until a few years ago and this was the album that changed that for me. I had this album on repeat for the longest.

I feel like that time period between the late 60's and early 70's produced some really interesting bands as well as some really interesting, philosophic albums and musical ideas. Maybe it was all the psychedelics, who knows?

Ironically, I originally discovered it from this song, and I'm so glad I decided to look up that sample.
