Oh no.

I lived in Vernon from 1975-1979 or 1980. I haven't been there in a decade, but I doubt it's ready for 90k. It's beautiful country, but it's going to utterly disrupt the interior of BC. The only good thing that might come of this is the immigrants might be good fruit pickers so the Mexicans can stay home.

In Muskoka, my Uncle lives in the large log home he and my Grandparents built in the early 80s. He's an aircraft engineer for the UN and fixes their jets all over the world. He met his Dominican wife in this way, and now I have a 4 year old cousin, half black. Most of the "red necks" in Muskoka are good decent folks, and would never bother them. If a bunch of immigrants are forced in then the locals may carry grudges and won't care who they upset, rightly or wrongly.

Haven't people learned anything from Europe?

Forty acres and a mule but different country. What could go wrong?
