    Whenever I have been to jail in Texas for felony, the court process is entirely a bullshit kangaroo game..

    When you go to court, they ask if you want to plead guilty and accept a prison term.

    If you say no, they reset you to wait in jail for two months and try court again.

    If you can afford bail, they have less leverage over you, you don't need to sit in jail for many months.
