            It's sad how we can't all agree they're both evil and move on.

            The systems of government for both were horribly corrupt (by modern standards), but unless you were on Germany's irrational blame list you had way more rights and freedoms compared to the USSR at the time. If you were on that list than the commies would be the better solution.

            As for a broad simplification I think we (sane people) can all agree on:
