      The Ku Klux Klan were heroes defending whites from the influx of black crime seeping into their neighborhoods.

      Ku Klux Klan was created to prevent republicans and blacks from voting in democrat minority districts. They attacked whomever their leaders told them to attack, white or black, innocent or criminal.

      The beliefs of an average member don't matter. But judging by the clothes, they were probably not that different from the inconsistent madness modern democrats profess to believe.

      They were basically the Proud Boys of their day.

      So, the methods democrats use to erase southern culture had been developed when democrats were controlling the southern resistance.

      Before that, they could just use their 3/5 slave votes to autowin every time. But persuading Christians to tolerate unelected slaver leaders isn't easy, so they had much initiative to practice their propaganda skills even before the civil war.

      They've reeducated blacks. They will reeducate southerners.
