Throw up a sign- No Niggers.

Funny how that private companies thing works isn't it?

Ah the second grade understanding of the constitution rearing its ugly head...

Why are you giving it that title? She has a valid point.

I think they’re mocking the authoritarian left who are suddenly taking the libertarian stance when it comes to tech monopolies censoring people.

I got that. I'm just saying that the OP is using the trope improperly. "Muh x" is used to ridicule people who have an obsession with x. The group being ridiculed (authoritarian left) isn't obsessed with private companies; it's quite the opposite.

That's why it's funny.

Left was tyring to be cute and ironic, like "ha you are forgetting your own principles lollol" but this is hypocritical on so many levels. As mentioned they dont' mean ANY private company, they only mean the ones that agree with their politics, which makes them fascist and makes that statement that much more funny because leftist are so oblivious to their own illogical thinking and act like fools.

FUCK I sometimes really miss that downvote button.

Nobody's stopping you from going back to Reddit.

[–]madcow-5 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Actually reddit’s stopping quite a few of us from going back.

Even without a pandemic, you can't open a bar in the US very easily. That shit is heavily government regulated. Its a legacy of suffrage. But when you do open a bar, an SJW or Nazi customer can't demand how you decorate it. Reddit can decorate their site with "black lives mater" or "stop the steel" however they wish.

They can smash it, bomb it, cover it in paint, and if they claim they did it because you were a "nazi" then good luck convincing the authorities to investigate the case.

In this context, we are talking about what the government shuts down and what it doesn't shut down. The government can't shut down your establishment based on its messaging, even if the customers prefer a different message.

The government has official and unofficial ways of doing something. This may be new in US where there used to be deep respect for the constitution, but not in other countries where the opposite has been the norm since the beginning.

Seems like you are being a conspiracy theorist? One thing to keep in mind is Occam's Razor. Does Trump ask his people to intimidate his adversaries like an African dictator would? Or is there a cabal of child eating Jews manipulating Twitter's messages?

[–]H3v8 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Since you are so interested in "conspiracy theories", look up about "Gladio".

Yep. There were US government conspiracies that were supposedly meant to undermine communism. It killed innocent people and undermined the democratic values we claimed we stood for. But, and this a is a big but, when you have such conspiracies, if they are large or consequential, they usually can't remain secrete forever.

Ah, but they certainly can prevent you from decorating it how you like.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

No they can't.

[–]Blackbrownfreestuff 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Yes they can.

[–]bobbobbybob 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

well argued response. Faggot.

Good luck painting your place of commerce in Nazi regalia, or, next year, hanging a Trump sign...

Yeah, I helped open a brick and mortar business. The red-tape was insane, and tremendously costly, both in fees and repairs or construction changes and in the amount of time it took for the bureaucracy to process different permits.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

I am sure the process is a bit more streamlined for business chains? I worked for a retailer that had an employee who specialized in opening up new locations. I wouldn't be surprised if some regulations actually come from large industries to prevent small business competition.

[–]insta 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

I worked for a retailer that had an employee who specialized in opening up new locations.

Exactly. That corporation had an employee earning a livable salary and their whole job was jumping through hoops set up to prevent small businesses from starting. A small business starting out can't pay just one dude $30,000-$60,000 depending on location just to deal with bullshit.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

That corporate bitch was an asshole too. But the manager of the store was nice enough. I almost liked the job had it not been for the low pay.
