Yep, the meme is misleading. Our forefathers knew a war would be bloody, costly, and uncertain, it wasn't their first course of action. And we also didn't send troops to England to start a fight.

I feel like they should have, once we had won and were settled, of course. There were plenty of Scots here with family over there. Fuck. Missed opportunity, George Washington.

My US history is rusty but I believe we were vastly indebted both monetarily and we were supposed to go help the French with their revolution.

Yes, you are right. I was being mostly sarcastic. I would not have liked any of the Founding Fathers. They turned on their people.

They also owned the manufacturing and were able to stop payments to britain. Those who own everything now run the government, and take taxes directly out of your paycheck and tack it on directly to all your purchases.

The people who own Britain eventually got America back. 1918? 1917? I'm not sure. Sometime around then. Back then, some states were still living totally free (not great, but hey, free and full of true liberty)

My boss is the one giving the money to the banks. Hell, the bosses fucking let the banks and the gov step in like some sort of helpful middleman, and they don't even see the money till it's in the account. Disgusting. Businesses need to stop taking part in income tax, it's disgusting.

Perhaps if someone were to write up some sort of declaration of demands or intent that everyone could rally behind. A declaration of independence from taxes, if you will. Something that says "we refuse to pay any more taxes until those taxes are reduced and constrained to only fund that which is enumerated in the constitution".
