Honestly, what would the Left do if they actually had control of the means of production? The last thing they want is to produce. They want the proletariat to produce while their labor funds the academic class.

Important question would be: What is the means of production?

You can have the grandest factory in the history of the world, and it won't do a thing without skilled engineers and workers to drive the machinery. The grandest factory in the history of the world also will become the worst factory on the planet if you let it remain static and don't have the innovation and skill of the people making it better. A chunk of steel is meaningless without craftsmen to make it something worthwhile.

Therefore, to "seize the means of production" is in fact to seize the people. History proves this to be true.

Amazing & Embarrassing when weak minds whine about Marxism & Socialism,
unable to comprehend that Karl Marx was all about giving The Power To The People!

People don't need power. We need a true monarchy under god. Like Charlemagne for example, or Richard the lionheart. Monarchy us a great thing because good people actually have the ability to do good, unlike now where baddies only pass their agenda albeit relatively slowly. But in communism, we would have the same people. They have the connections, the money, the power, they would rule with an iron fist like in China or U.S.S.R. With the exception of the monarch, societal rulers don't give a shit about what kind of government there is.

    Marx was only really good at describing what was happening not at predicting or advising.

    He thought eventually capitalism would collapse on it's own as the workers wages would be cut so low they wouldn't be able to buy anything. However this was actually corrected in his own life time with the state stepping in with social safetynets and company regulation so anyone who still believes that will happen is very, very out of date. He also imagined street fighting as in the French revolution. He was involved in street fighting and barricades himself and like many men he loved that shit, found it fun, exciting and didn't see anything wrong with violence.
