I don’t know anyone that died from the top six, but I do know one that died from COVID: my grandpa..

Old people die, poofter. That's life.

A mean, hostile, stupid, misleading, and dangerous argument, idiot.

First - there are 'grandpas' in their '30s.

Second - everyone has a right to life, no matter how old

Third - this kind of evil argument is pushed by assholes who support Trump, McConnell and right-wing, selfish sociopaths

Fourth - it's important that people can live longer today than they did in the 10th century, when the neighbors dropped by on occasion and raped and murdered you and your family

Fifth - who the fuck are you to imply that Poofter's grandpa should have died anyway?

Sixth - false arguments like this are using false equivalence and whataboutism to excuse criminal negligence that caused the deaths of a large percentage of 1.5 million COVID deaths

Seventh - get help (sociopathy is a serious disorder that often leads to criminal activity)

You guys really need to calm down. Old people die, and all of the old people I know are pissed at their kids and grandkids for letting the government tell them when they can come visit. You are the aggressive one sir, you are telling people they are mentally deficient or mentally challenged or sick, just because they acknowledge that older people die. If you are above the age of sixty, you should really be in a position of mental maturity/stability, ready to face death (which literally might come at any time once you pass a certain threshold) You and all the folks scared of covid are going to be the most obnoxious elderly folks ever. Seriously, don't put me in a nursing home with you whiners. Poofters grandpa was always going to die, and I highly doubt he was being treated correctly near the end. Folks rarely are these days. I find it to be misleading and dangerous to call someone an idiot when they literally just state the truth "old people die" ESPECIALLY during a "pandemic"

On a side note, my seventy something grandparents with asthma had this and are fine now. If this were a real pandemic, THEY WOULD BE DEAD. Seriously, just apply some logic. Poofter got his grandpa taken from him most likely. "oh, having trouble breathing? Our shitty test says you have covid. Here, let us treat you for something you don't have. oh, you died? Damn covidiots, who didn't wear a mask around this old man?"

It's just a bad argument (for reasons I mentioned) to respond to the death of anyone with something like, "over 60, should have been prepared to die anyway." There are so many reasons that is an idiotic, mean response.

I think I am calm, by the way, by contrast with /u/tseug's elightenting response: "Shutup you cunt"

The bigger question is: why do several people on saidit.net see the OP's post as 'insightful'. To think that there are 18 people who think in this manner, not to mention a MAGAtard Twittler army of gun-totiing, smelly, rotund, Christian terrorists who also think it, is really worrying. This past 4 years has brought out the worst in people.

I would never click the lightbulb for shite like this. It's making me leave. However, I also don't like seeing people who think its mean to say that death comes to us all. What matters is the reality of death, which isn't what people think, and isn't something to weep over. I stopped crying over dead loved ones and beloved life-long pets because I realized that when I die, I don't want people falling into unreason or fear. If your mom died of a car crash, I'll feel sorry and offer condolences, but if you were to then support draconian measures against the freedom to buy and operate a car, I'll oppose you.

If you call someone a name, isn't that more rude than simply saying words that are truthful? Edit: yeah tseug is pretty rude, but you did say he needs to seek help from the medical community, and they really suck at dealing with mental health problems. You basically asked him to go take legal drugs

It boils down to someone saying that his/her grandpa died from COVID, and then receiving the mean comment, "Old people die, poofter. That's life." The suffering of others may not matter to this latter person or to you. I thought I'd mention what I think is wrong with this lack of concern for others. It's also a worrying trend.

[–][deleted] 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I don't see why stating the truth makes you think I don't care about the suffering of poofter and their grandparent. That's your unhealthy projection. My gripe is that you guys think we should enforce a dress code, a needle mandate, and a draconian lockdown because someone died. Thank you.

Shutup you cunt

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

I think it's spelled: 'shut up'

Try telling someone in person that their loved one should have died, and I hope they will respond appropriately.

You're twisting my words. Lift your shill game.

Blow me shill. The suffering of others clearly does not matter to you, being an advocate of insane draconian government policies. You are a pathetic worm and I hope you are taken to a 'quarantine camp' and we never hear from you again.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

You want me to die?

You also want a blowjob from a stranger on the internet?

Requirement to wear a mask, or quarantine (if necessary), or social distance is not 'Draconian'.

I'll go die now.
