Pope benedict resigned overt this because there convictions can be used as precedence in admiralty courts.

The Spanish govt told the Pope not to go to Spain because he may be arrested.

These common law courts and trials are legit. Especially if elected sheriff's and judges participate in the trials as officers/witnesses.

I didn't know they were legit. I guess it depends who and how and such - as in all things.
