This site is getting as dumb as voat. It would work if people fucking wore masks and socially distanced FOR TWO FUCKING WEEKS!!
HURR DURR, WE GOTTA PLAY SPORTS, RIOT, PROTEST AND PARTY...
I immigrated here a few decades ago. This was the first thing I noticed about Americans, how stubborn and difficult they are. ABOUT EVERYTHING. I mean, you're proud of it, but that's a terrible sort of virtue only third world idiots have. And even they're not as bad.
Everything was explained to people a million times, and yet they refuse to look at the numbers in other countries and claim, "MASKS DON'T WORK, LOCKDOWNS DON'T WORK!" after months of refusing to follow the mandates for any period of time.
Then you have cops and even some GOVERNORS showing their ignorance by refusing to enforce the regulations. Unbelievable. Enjoy your 996 schedules when the Chinese take over...

First we need some humor here, and that has a personal taste.
Then: Lockdowns did not work at all. This is true for each country, just check the real-world data. The WHO finally advices against it.
Unless you lockdown early and/or live on a small island. And then you have to fight it every day.
The countries started to lockdown a few months after the disease had already spread. In march tests found 50% of some populations already had the virus, and that is how quickly it goes. (Tests of some crews on military ships, and tests of homeless in California) You are probably immune yourself already.
The idea that locking down now stops the virus, is a fantasy world that people live in.

did seem to work at first but then we reopened so covid spread like wildfire. But yeah they had a lot of pressure to reopen cuz of the economy.

The WHO finally advices against it.
This is what they actually said...https://www.politico.eu/article/who-lockdowns-wouldnt-be-needed-if-mask-use-reached-95-percent/

Nope. Politico is just propaganda garbage. And the Who too, which is why we got here in the first place.
There is no science in all of the lockdowns and masks, just powerful people making unscientific, untested claims.

We let them immigrate....proceeds to insult us. This indomitable American spirit is a feature, not a defect. The fruits of this is why people want to immigrate here. You left your native country for a reason, perhaps they will welcome you back. Wh..what do you mean you don't want to go back?
Get the fuck over yourself, people immigrate everywhere. My dad came for a better paying job not unlike how someone moves from Minnesota to Texas for work, so get fucked. I'm a loyal American and have pride in my country but I'm not going to let some shit like you talk down to me like I'm some fucking shitbird from Somalia without a pot to piss in.

Proceeds to shit talk Americans.
Start acting like it then. Goes to show that America isn't magic dirt that instills our spirit into economic migrants.
Doesn't mean I'm a fucking retard.

I'm not personally against masks, even if they don't work as some claim there is value to the peace of mind doing something, anything provides. I have a bad knee that causes a lot of pain and I do a lot of shit for it that isn't effective, but it's much better to try something and fail than to sit there and take it. So I'd be for masks either way. I get it.
But in my area we all wear masks, it hasn't made covid go away and we've been doing it since March. That alone is not fixing it. We did the masks, we did the lockdowns, we're looking at another lockdown. I'll let other people argue whether or not that's a good idea, but it's obvious to see it's not the Alpha and Omega of covid. That alone won't end it.

"we have to do something" is a terrible frame of mind. Decisions have consequences, and the data shows lockdowns have consequences. Drug overdoses are way up. Suicides are way up. Domestic violence is way up. Death by starvation worldwide is way up. Those are a direct effect of the decision to lock down.
"I have to do something about this knee pain! I know, I'll smoke crack! I feel so much better knowing I'm doing something, and it does help with the pain!"
I'm sad seeing the childlike view of the left. "We have to destroy everything to deal with the latest thing I'm freaking out about!"
6 months before covid we had the same people arguing for the same measures to deal with global climate change. They don't care about the ultimate consequences of dealing with their cause of the day, thinking of all that is too much work.

Um, maybe it's because people are partying, not wearing masks when it's not required and doing other dumb stuff that defies common sense?
They asked people to stay apart for 2 weeks and you fucking couldn't do that. Numerous other countries followed the rules and their numbers are way down except for dumbfuck America.
Are Americans even seeing these numbers on these charts? It needs to be plastered everywhere.

I have a low grade fever right now, not covid symptoms, but even wearing masks isn't perfect. I've had several self imposed 2 wk lockdowns because of shit like this and I'm going on another one rn now bc of that. My Thanksgiving is going to suck, but whatever, I don't want to get other people sick.
I'm not against masks or lockdowns but it's just not enough. It isn't working.
Dude, for the last time, it worked in other countries that took it seriously. That's all you fucking hicks have to do, stay home and wear masks FFS. This is on you guys, man up and fucking own it.
