The people who aren't like that have been mostly silenced by the media, creating the appearance of a false consensus.

True... but you just have to go outside to see that the consensus is much bigger than I would prefer.

Perhaps, there's a lot of people playing along who don't agree, but this isn't the hill they want to die on, so to speak

the WWII people were far stupider, I'd have gone AWOL.

To be fair the Western front was a lot safer than the Eastern.

[–]bagano1 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

Far safer? It was a cupcake walk. Never mind what you see in the movies...look at the numbers, the real war was fought in the Eastern Front. Not even up for debate. There's a reason the US didn't tangle with Russia. They probably would have been crushed.

[–]jet199 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

Well Russia had the most casualties by a long way. They certainly weren't the strongest military force, at least at the start of the war. Their strength was that they just kept throwing people in and didn't care how many of their own died.

Well.. one would like to think that any of us would have done the same if our country was being invaded by nazis.

Dude, that's fucking propaganda. How stupid are you? They beat the Germans quite soundly, give them the fucking credit they deserve.

Major companies and governments are enforcing mask mandates and shutting down...I mean, what more do you want to understand this is real?

Africa, the Caribbean and Asia took this seriously and are living life normally. The so-called first world Western nations still don't get it in November.

Asia is going to own your asses when this is all over.

Get acquainted with the "996" work schedule, you'll need it.

Yes, a flu with a +99% survival rate is real. You're guzzling propaganda 101 like a plebe drinking beer at a frat party. Without critical thinking to filter it, you're allowing others to form a false reality for you.

[–]bagano1 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (4 children)

Governments all over the world shut down, ordered mask mandates and companies shut down and ordered masks at their places of business. Problem is, they tried your way back in February and March. And it failed. Miserably.

There's a reason you pay taxes for a government. They're paid to manage for a living. They're paid to do research. There's a reason you live in a trailer park and shoot cans all day on welfare.

Know your place.

What are you prattling on about? Is this a soliloquy? Pardon if I'm interrupting.

Quit playing dumb.

Stop being dumb. Put the booze down, express yourself coherently instead.

You're the one that's lit right now, ROFLMAO.

You think 72 hour work weeks don't exist in America? It's not uncommon in the restaurant industry. It's the only way you can make a living wage at a lot of those jobs.

[–]whistlepig 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

For the most part only if you have 2+ jobs. Tax law has made it too expensive to have most employees working more than 30 hours.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

My understanding is that companies that only hire people for part time positions generally do so to avoid having to give them benefits. Small businesses aside I have no sympathy for companies trying to fuck their workers over so their CEOs can get big paydays and a golden parachute on their way out.

[–]whistlepig 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Yes.. benefits and other taxes as well that add to the cost of the employee to the business. Whether the CEOs are over payed or not any person wants to get the most they can for their money. By making it that much more expensive to have people working 40 hours+ a week it turns out for some vocations you get more man hours per dollar by having more employees at 30 hr/wk versus 40 hr/wk. I'm afraid its a business decision done at the local managerial level rather than at the central HQ CEO's level. So I don't think their parachute really affects what happens for this issue. I mean lets face it... most of the businesses we're referring to here are just franchises at the low wage employee level. Its largely out of the hands of corporate. They just collect their franchise fees and take care of the marketing and supplies.

Only difference is, that's the minimum in China, ROFLMAO.

And they have real jobs in China...

You are comparing wearing a mask to going to war? How sensitive and childish are you.

Do you think everything is propaganda on internet? do you ever think for yourself? They simply asking you to wear masks, and by not doing so you are forcing harsher measures to take place to account for all the idiots like you.

please read that again and think about it a little further.

You should follow your own advice, since you obviously never think, just jump down rabbit holes.
