      Nah, the LGBT activists that you talk to and that ends up on western news is mostly western LGBT activists. They take issue with Christians because they've experienced homophobia from Christian communities in the west first hand. They don't have a lot of experience with homophobia from Muslim communities, because they don't interact with a lot of Muslims. So while they don't agree with homophobia from Muslim communities, they don't spend a lot of time on it. If you speak with LGBT activists from Muslim majority countries, they don't have a lot of opinions about Christian bakers in America either. It's not hypocrisy, it's two separate groups.

      The argument that feminists stand up against "western males" and not "super scary Muslim males" due to the latter being scarier does not hold any water because both are scary.

      Imagine you're trapped, alone on a bus with an armed serial killer looking for his next victim. Your sense of fear has already hit saturation. Whether the serial killer spends his free time praying in a church or a mosque or masturbating in his mother's basement is of little importance to you.

      Western men who are afraid of the scary brown guys project that fear onto other people. They think, I'm scared of these brown guys, so you must be scared too. But the truth of the matter is that, there's not a whole lot of difference between one and the other for me as far as fear is concerned.           Imagine hearing that a liberal talk show host and comedian was so enraged by the actions of ISIS that he’d recorded and posted a video in which he shouts at them for ten minutes, cursing the “fanatical terrorists” and calling them “utter savages” with “savage values”.

          If I heard that, I’d be kind of surprised. It doesn’t fit my model of what liberal talk show hosts do.

          But the story I’m actually referring to is liberal talk show host / comedian Russell Brand making that same rant against Fox News for supporting war against the Islamic State, adding at the end that “Fox is worse than ISIS”.

          That fits my model perfectly. You wouldn’t celebrate Osama’s death, only Thatcher’s. And you wouldn’t call ISIS savages, only Fox News. Fox is the outgroup, ISIS is just some random people off in a desert. You hate the outgroup, you don’t hate random desert people.

          I would go further. Not only does Brand not feel much like hating ISIS, he has a strong incentive not to. That incentive is: the Red Tribe is known to hate ISIS loudly and conspicuously. Hating ISIS would signal Red Tribe membership, would be the equivalent of going into Crips territory with a big Bloods gang sign tattooed on your shoulder.

          But this might be unfair. What would Russell Brand answer, if we asked him to justify his decision to be much angrier at Fox than ISIS?

          He might say something like “Obviously Fox News is not literally worse than ISIS. But here I am, talking to my audience, who are mostly white British people and Americans. These people already know that ISIS is bad; they don’t need to be told that any further. In fact, at this point being angry about how bad ISIS is, is less likely to genuinely change someone’s mind about ISIS, and more likely to promote Islamophobia.                 If you don't want to sell me a cake I'll feel mildly inconvenienced and take my money elsewhere, its a poor business decision but its your choice.

                we have the ADA which says you need to have wheelchair accessible ramps to get in buildings, including private businesses. There is precedent, so you can't just say you won't sell things to handicapped people. So can we sell we won't sell things to gay people? I think you can't do that to any people. Even if you want to when it would be bad for business. These businesses do get benefits from the govt, of course they pay taxes in order to deserve that. We also have food inspectors coming into restaurants making sure they are clean and I actually support that. Years ago we had the Jungle written about food conditions and I'm glad govt stepped in.

                In pretty sure the argument and legal cases weren't about where or not businesses have the right to not sell things to gay people.

                They were more about whether a mad Christian should have to make a cake which says "Gay marriage is great" on the top.

                There's an enforced speech aspect, which is why cases have gone both ways in the courts.
