More people die of bee stings than are 'wrongly' killed by police. Half the ones the media tries to whip up a frenzy about the jogger takes taser off cops and tries to attack them, etc.

Really? bee stings kill more than 900 people a year in the US? Don't think so

edit: Wow bee stings kill 100 a year in the US, that's way more than I expected. Still not more than cops though.

[–][deleted] 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (7 children)

wrongly

The overwhelming majority of those killed by police are entirely justified.

[–]magnora7 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (6 children)

I disagree, maybe 10% are justified at most. Other developed countries do not have nearly the rates of police murdering civilians as the US does. US cops are allowed to play judge, jury, and executioner, and the justice system is set up to defend that and turn a blind eye when it's cops doing the killing, and that needs to change.

Not really a matter of opinion those are the facts. Other countries don't have rampant gun culture so the cops aren't completely on edge worrying about if the next hood rat is gonna pull a gun on them to get away with his crack rocks.

[–]magnora7 6 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 0 fun7 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

Other countries also train their police for 4 years, while the US is 6 months.

Other countries also don't equip their police with military equipment for free with stipulations they must use it within a few months or return it.

There are things we can improve upon.

[–][deleted] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

Well that is not going to happen because the left wing idiotic zealots want to defund the police and all things you mention take funding.

Many things needs to be addressed, a lot the issues lay in the black community. But they will NEVER EVER let go of their victim mentality as a community. In addition, they will NEVER practice introspection and realize that thug/gang culture in their community is a major part of these issues.

Yes to some degree, but people are getting pissed off enough to pool their money to fix how broken the police system is, and a lot of people are doing it in ways that might actually work, who are outsize of the zealots that want no police to exist at all or whatever nonsense. The people who can see the gray area and the subtlety, are the ones who might have a chance to make real change. There's a lot of corruption, which is how we got here in the first place, but when corruption gets too bad, it often becomes unstable as history shows.

The whole black/white conversation is a complete distraction from the actual issue of police misconduct that affects all Americans. Just read about civil asset forfeitures and seizures! They can literally steal your stuff for no reasons and there's basically nothing you can do about it.

Stuff like that needs to change. And although a lot of idiots are trying to spearhead the conversation and take it in ridiculous directions, there is still this need to make actual meaningful change that will improve the quality of life for the American people

That is happening/happened across all 5 eyes countries.

Bring in asset seizure laws and say its to take property/vehicles off bikie gangs and organized crime. The public support it. Reality, someone growing weed in their house and selling it has their home taken away. Even though they paid for the house with legally earned wage. Losing the house is way bigger penalty than any of the penalties on the books for the crime you did. Its insane.

Bring in laws where you must hand in encryption keys/password says it to target terrorist and pedophiles. The public support it. They then use these laws to target journalist and spy on populations.

Whatever police force you have in america if its going to be effective more blacks are going to be arrested because of the criminality ingrained in their culture/communities. Unless issues in the black communities are addressed instead of blame the police, blame whitey, etc nothing will ever change.

You mentioned the 5 eyes intelligence cooperation program, that alone warrants an upvote.

There are lots of things the public support, like you said, it's just a matter of making those things become law in the face of a corrupted legal and judicial structure. Not to mention the Freemasonry influence in these groups is rampant. These social connections often supersede the written law, and it has created a feedback loop of corruption that needs to be reversed.

Probably, but it's heinous when it happens and when it's compounded with impunity it destroys the most basic trust required for policing society.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (5 children)

Only if your an idiot that is brainwashed by media. I expect more than 8 unarmed blacks (most of these still physically attacked the officers) to be killed by police due to human error in a gun infested country like america.

[–]muyuu 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

No, it's heinous whether you are an idiot or not, and it destroys trust in the police whether you are an idiot or not. Takes being a complete retard to think anecdotal cases where the police acts callously and then gets a pass don't cause unrest and wanton destruction, given the scale of evidence.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

Black men are ten times more likely to be killed by other black men then they are police.

Do you why they have so many interactions with police? Blacks make up approximately 13% of the US population while they commit 52% of crime.

[–]muyuu 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

that is unrelated to anything I've said

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Its perfectly related. Police are not the problem. Niggers are the problem.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

There it is.

[–]Chipit 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

Yes! Yes! Stoke the divisiveness! Make the ordinary people fight with one another! Good job posting this!

[–]Drewski[S] 10 insightful - 2 fun10 insightful - 1 fun11 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

There are good people in the police force, I know a few personally. That said, calling attention to their gross, rampant abuses of power and lack of accountability hardly seems divisive to me unless you worship their authority and the 'thin blue line'.

[–]magnora7 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

The police doing these things are driving the divisiveness much more than the people who are simply pointing that out...

Niggas promoting Reddit up in here

[–]Wrang1er 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

Reddit is fine unless you go to a political sub, r/moderatepolitics is an exception though. Otherwise, it has many nice communities for niche subjects. I hope that carries on to saidit.

[–]Commiefa 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

Except they're all political subs now.

[–]beermeem 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Even the sub for my favorite sports team is too woke for me to bother with. Wallstreetbets is the only thing barely keeping me there but even that has turned in the last 6 months.

I hope that we all agree that police should be trained better and be held accountable more often. RIP that dog.

[–]beermeem 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Even the police agree that they should be trained better.
