And yes the freedom to defend yourself means that by the same token, if your an evil individual, you can do evil things.

Having the government take away your freedom doesn't mean there's any less evil ppl out there, it just means you are a slave to the evil the government allows on you.

About as free as a caged chicken.

Not at all. Cliven Bundy may be the latest great example. In the US the politicians and their henchmen must at the very minimum think about the pain and fallout of certain repercussions.

Yes in most other countries, you are essentially a declawed feline subject to a very benevolent government I'm sure.

I'm not denigrating anyone living in any other country fyi, I'm denigrating those who call for gun control in the USA and often cite the leaders like countries of France, Germany, Australia or NZ and celebrities in such countries who immediately spout off about how they don't have such problems. What's happening now in the USA as DNC, Democrat and RINO controlled cities have mayors, governors and other elected officials instruct law enforcement to standby on "protesters" while they jail individuals for attending a religious mass, opening their nail salon, or not wearing a covid condom.

edit:

And I'm not sure they meant for this to happen, but this validates every conservative or right wing pundit when the left spouts off about "it's 2019 there's no need for guns we're beyond that and the govt will take care of you".

Yeh no the govt won't take care of you, in fact they might just arrest you for attending church or opening your business but it's cool if someone burns you business to the ground.

If it wasn't attacking innocent civilians no one would be hating the US lol. No one hates Switzerland.

After any gun violence event, political leaders and citizens of other countries immediately critique the USA for it's citizens having guns.

Aspects of what you said might be true, but it's irrelevant in this context. You're spewing talking points. Walk and chew gum at the same time, it can be done.

[–][deleted] 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (11 children)

YOU are spewing talking points. It's just the politicians of other countries that put on the show of criticising the USA for having an armed population. Most people worldwide couldn't care less that there are guns. Many also admire that fact of the US culture. Many even consider it as being its one single redeeming quality.

People rage against the USA for having an infinitely dumbed down population and using false excuses of "democracy" and "human rights" to destroy the world using its military while its stupid population goes "thank you for your service" and "thank you for my freedom". Oh that evil Saddam Hussein, he was about to use his nonexistent Weapons of Mass Distraction to take away your "freedoms" was he?

Oh that evil Gaddafi was threatening your freedom with his country's oil reserves, I am sure.

That's what the world criticitzes the USA for. And rightly so.

Most people worldwide couldn't care less that there are guns. Many also admire that fact of the US culture.

Look, I've roamed all across Muslim lands and I can tell you from personal experience that many do admire American culture along with the science, technology and developments it produces. If American influence was confined to exporting cool tech and "freedom", most Muslims would in fact end up feeling an overwhelming love and sympathy for America. Why there ends up being animosity is because of foreign policy: the American military doesn't honor the principles of democracy and freedom when it interferes in legit Muslim democracies because the people hold an opinion or policy which is considered unacceptable. American leadership clearly prefers the puritanical lunatics in Saudi murdering innocents over "free democracies" in the region because it is predictable and keeps the money flowing...

The right to have a well armed militia to protect from an oppressive government is a great concept but it isn't working according to the principle it was designed to clearly. Practically, the American government and military are already bigger than anything else like it the world has ever seen. The American people can't do anything about that and even if they wanted to do, they are too easily hypnotized and manipulated. The only thing you're allowed to do is buy guns and line someone else's pockets, you aren't allowed to change the status quo with your right to bear arms. Any change you are allowed to bring has to be preapproved by the powers that shouldn't be...

Could not have said it better. The government will NEVER take guns away from the people. They don't have to. Managing perception through perception management is far easier and far more impactful. The "Twinbom" as titled by the FBI in their 9/11 report before their investigation was thwarted by higher-ups, illustrates that most people and even lower government agents knew the official 9/11 story was a farce, and yet we continue to choose political sides, myopically identifying with party extremes, armed to the teeth while our brains rot.

It is so difficult for some people to realize this. The war being fought right now is being fought with tech and a huge part of it just involves control of public perceptions. The right to bear arms does little to fight that war and the American public is losing unfortunately. People don't know their own roles in the system...

Again, what does gadaffi, Saddam, the Taliban, Cuba, Nicaragua or any other place the U.S. has intervened/interacted with have to do with individual Americans owning firearms. They are mutually exclusive.

We can all walk and chew at the same time.

That is the reason the world criticizes America, not because of gun violence. No one on the international stage cares about Americans owning guns, they care about foreign policy and their own livelihood being effected by malign American military and political influence. I think that was the point in bringing it up.

[–][deleted] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Exactly. The title says "all the other countries that rage against its citizens being able to defend themselves". That is a blatant, utter lie.

Criticisms against the USA revolve around other topics but not that one. Yes, some people think there is more violent death because gun ownership is so prevalent. Whatever.

Saddam was removed because he was a threat to Israel.

Gaddafi was about to introduce an alternative currency for Africa to displace the French franc. Why do you think France took the lead?

We Americans literally elected a leader to put a stop to this globalist bullshit. He hasn't started a single war. In fact he tried to end Afghanistan and Syria and was overruled by the unelected government.

But go ahead and bash Americans. It makes you feel better about your own shitty country. That was the biggest eyeopener about anti-Americanism I learned about. So much of it is envy and jealousy that comes out in creative ways. By otherwise intelligent people who just go crazy when the topic of America comes up. Remember Der Speigel and their lies? Easily debunked, all of them, and nobody checked. It was what they wanted to hear.

This much is true.

We Americans literally elected a leader to put a stop to this globalist bullshit.

Well, your voting didn't matter much then because Trump is still a shill who will do anything his Israeli masters ask. Better luck next time?

So... Do you justify the CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY committed by the US military machine in both Iraq and Lybia? Wars without any kind of moral or even legal basis? The millions dead?

Your arguments EXEMPLIFY what I talk about: Americans being so dumb as to think others are JEALOUS of their culture of wanton stupidity. I'm not saying all citizens of that nation are stupid, but that the culture promotes and glorifies it. NOBODY is jealous. The 2nd amendment? Sure, that would be neat to have elsewhere. But to be jealous of the USA generally speaking?

I think if you travel the world, most people are the opposite, they feel sorry for you people. To have so much, and create so much drivel and bullshit with it. To create violent bloodbaths around the world with it, and keep a starving class at home. All because the population is dumbed down and brainwashed.

Oh yes, Trump. He seems to be doing good. I wonder what he's hiding.

[–]Chipit 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Would you rather have Israel being threatened by Saddam?

Would you rather have France lose its profit issuing the franc for Africa to use?

If not, then you support American wars over the world. Trump is a huge block to further plans, as he is against starting more wars. The unelected government tried to start wars in Venezuela and Iran and North Korea only to fail.

I don't know about Trump because he does what his masters order him to. He's a puppet just like every other illegitimate POTUS, just maybe a bit less so than those who preceded him for 60 years.

I would gleefully watch israel turned to a sheet of radioactive glass, but I'd mourn the Palestinians caught in it. And the French regime is as illegitimate as that of the USA so no, I don't support them.

I don't know about other countries, but the people here criticizing USA for gun culture are the same who welcome US interference into local affairs and funding of specific activities and supporting specific movements.

They are defending themselves against an attempted ethnic cleansing operation by the Afro-American community of Los Angeles.

It worked, too. It stopped the ethnic cleansing in its tracks.

That is not accurate. During the riots one of the korean members mentioned that the looters were majority hispanic gang-bangers like cholos, who wanted to loot the stores. The looters at that time were mixed. But thanks for sharing your irrational paranoia and insecurities of what you may fear.

[–]Chipit 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Gonna need a citation on that. The people who came in burning them out of house and home like Serbians to Bosnians were the Afro-American community. I can point you to a bunch of rap songs that clearly called for violence before the event and prepared the community for the riots against Koreans.

It wasn't looters, it was people coming in to burn them out and force the Korean outsiders out of "their" neighborhoods. How dare they build businesses and serve the locals!

Starts at around the 1 minute mark. You still have yet to cite anything that you claimed.
