It is not legal to give someone HIV intentionally but nice try. If you're gonna post crap, show the source.

"My precious?". You;re a fucking idiot. I live here and people get arrested all the time.

"here's your slap on the wrist"....while the other person is now HIV positive.

As HIV is now curable, it's no different than syphillis or any other STD. Your "fears" are not warranted. That's why it was reduced form felony to misdemeanor so a non issue. Next unknowing claim/

Please nobody listen to this guy. "now curable" is laughable.

In 2018, around 770 000 [570 000–1.1 million] people died from AIDS-related illnesses worldwide

Because they didn't have access to treatment. Almost no one died in the US that year.

Do you even know what "curable" means? Do you know what HIV does to peoples lives? How it changes them and their path? What the side effects of medications are?

Yes. I have gay friends too. Depending on detection and the quickness of treatment, you exaggerate. It's technically curable now.

Treatable would be a better word. Curable? Not at all. That would mean that they would go off medications and not have it recur. Just because a chronic disease is treatable doesn't mean anybody would want somebody to intentionally give it to them without their knowledge.

Holy fuck listen to yourself. Giving someone AIDS/HIV is an issue. Just like giving someone else a STD intentionally.

Didn't you read his comment? He lives in Cali and knows ppl who apparently got arrested trying to pass HIV off to others. That's what they do there.

They even teach them in Cali that HIV is curable. Screenshot this and write your governor, no-one whose paid taxes to California, NY, IL, or NJ should be allowed to emigrate to any other state.

A simple google will prove you wrong. https://www.avert.org/about-hiv-aids/cure

Even if we go by your logic, gunshots and stab wounds are often non-fatal and treatable, so why not lower those to a misdemeanor? Personally I'd rather be stabbed or shot than get AIDS.

Where’s your source to say it isn’t legal..?

Anyone have a link to source of the HIV court case? I remember hearing about it but never got to follow up.

It's still illegal, but just a misdemeanor. See OP's answer to igorness's statement.
