That's basically what Greta is/was saying, she's lecturing the western world leaders.

It's even present in the above quote:

Because that future was sold so that a small number of people could make unimaginable amounts of money.

She's lecturing the UN, which is more black and brown than anything. Face it, she's a privileged little shit who needs to stay in her lane. You whites don't get to decide whether or not you're racist. Recognize that privilege, white supremacy, homophobia, toxic masculinity, and gender normativity are layered issues. It's easy to call a Nazi a racist because they are so obviously a racist. Not all racists are willing to take up that mantle.

What does her being white have to do with anything? You're just coming across as bitter and racist instead of addressing her actual message.

You can't be racist against white people. The only people who ever claim racism against whites, are racists.

Chipit said:

Now let's change one word.

You can't be racist against black people. The only people who ever claim racism against blacks, are racists.

That's what you sound like.

Hypocrisy is the greatest luxury. Raise the double standard.

What color is your skin?

She spoke at the UN because the UN invited her, maybe gear your anger towards the UN for giving her the stage, or towards the (mass)media for how it's all being handled.

You whites

? Are you trying to address me?

So are you saying that if Greta had a different skin color, you would like her message?

[–]Chipit[S] 1 insightful - 3 fun1 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 3 fun -  (5 children)

Whites command institutional power and run a system that benefits them at the expense of all other identity groups. You think anyone would have paid attention to her if she wasn't white and blonde? "They're not gonna really care."

How's that an answer, we were talking about Greta and the UN and how it seemed to look like to me that you were saying that you only dislike Greta because the color of her skin... And now some CNN (American) bullshit is thrown in.

Maybe I should have been more clear: If she was a different skin color would YOU have liked her message?

Also how is she blonde? Are we even talking about the same person?

For those that consider this to be an attack on Greta's speech in an attempt to marginalize white culture, well - actually, you're probably right there. Inevitably attempting to broaden accessibility for marginalized groups will come at the cost of the dominant groups. There's only so much attention in the world, and at the moment it is disproportionately directed towards one group. If that upsets you, well - you're on the way out and crying about it won't help.

Getting mad about a 16-year old girl for being white, that will teach ehm!

It's detrimental if you agree with her message but only because she's white (not blonde though) not.

It doesn't upset me, it does add up in my view of America, never encountered it in an interactive form.

Hard to tell if this guy is being ironic or not. Ever heard of affirmative action? there's your structural racism friendo.
